Kuwait chases several armed Kuwaitis and Saudis
Kuwait, Local, 1/24/2005

Kuwait said it follows up between 8 to 10 Saudi and Kuwaiti persons suspected to be members in al-Qaida organization following the increase in the attacks launched by those persons recently against the police.

A security source disclosed that the Kuwaiti state security department has been following since last Summer three persons who are Adel al-Shummari, Khaled al-Dousari and Ahmad al-Muteiri "in being part of the network which trained young men and sent them to Iraq to fight the American forces there."

The authorities suspect that the three men played a major role in the attacks which took place in Houli and Um al-Haiman areas between the police and gunmen earlier this month and resulted in killing one armed man and one security man., The source said that the authorities are searching for a fourth Kuwaiti- nationality suspect called Amer al-Oneizi ( 29 year old).

The security source stressed that all the wanted persons carried out activities and roles in Afghanistan or Iraq where American forces exist.

This came after the Kuwaiti police announced it found weapons and ammunition in a series of breaking in operations in the outskirts of Kuwait city and that it has so far arrested 25 persons.
