Tape recording for Zarqawi announces war on the elections
Iraq, Politics, 1/24/2005
In a voice tape, the Jordanian Abu Musab al-Zarqawi threatened to launch a fierce war against the elections in Iraq, describing the elections as a conspiracy from the side of the US, as he alleged.
The alleged recording which was put on an Internet site, and has not been proved authentic, criticized democracy describing it as "a deceiving proposition." The tape also talked about the control of the Shiite on the rule as four million Iranian Shiite entered Iraq in order to take part in the elections and maintain such a control. He warned the Iraqi Sunni population from the consequences of that.
This tape is the second alleged to be for al-Zarqawi and put on the Internet within few days, in which he criticized the Shiite over their support to Washington as he said.
Concerning the elections themselves, the Higher Commission For The Elections in Iraq said on Sunday that the number of observers who will supervise the general elections in Iraq due on January 30th surpassed 12,000 including 128 representatives of international organizations.
