King Mohammed VI performs Eid Al Adha prayers in Ahl Fes Mosque of Rabat

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Muminine (commander of the faithful), accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid and Prince Moulay Ismail, performed on Friday morning in Ahl Fes Mosque of Rabat, prayers marking Eid Al Adha, celebrating the Moslem feast of the ram sacrifice.

After the prayers, the Moroccan sovereign was saluted by heads of Islamic diplomatic missions in Rabat, who presented to the King congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the Eid Al Adha.

The sovereign also received congratulations of the Moroccan Prime minister, speakers of the two chambers of the Parliament, advisers to the King and other civilian and military personalities.

King Mohammed VI afterwards performed the ram sacrifice rite in line with the tradition of Prophet Sidna Mohamed.

On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, celebrated by Muslims all over the world, King Mohammed VI sent congratulations messages to the heads of Arab and Islamic countries extending his best wishes. He called in the message for a tolerant Islam that bans all forms of fanaticism, extremism and terrorism. The Moroccan monarch also said this religious occasion encourages all Muslims to "highlight the image of the tolerant Islam that forbids all forms of fanaticism, extremism and terrorism." Also, King Mohammed VI pardoned or reduced the sentences of 514 prisoners to mark the Eid Al Adha celebrated Friday in Morocco.
