Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/21/2005

The Palestinians in the West bank and Gaza celebrated Eid al-Adha holiday amid atmospheres of sadness because of the continued siege of the Palestinian cities and towns and continued breaking in and detention operations and the destruction of houses.

On the first day of the holiday, the occupation forces broke into Toubas city to the south of Jenin in the West Bank where confrontations took place between the occupation soldiers and people of the town, after which the Palestinian youth Salah Eddine Abu Mohsin ( 13 year old) was killed by the occupation bullets.

The Israeli checkpoints prevented the access of the Palestinians from outside occupied Jerusalem to al-Aqsa mosque to perform holiday prayers and obstructed the flow of the people of Jerusalem to al-Aqsa mosque.

In Gaza, hundreds of Palestinians performed holiday prayers at the Israeli checkpoints. News reports said that the occupation forces divided the sector into three isolated area, where the Palestinians were completely besieged amid closure of all internal and external crossings.

News reports in Gaza said that 500 Palestinians pended in Abu Houli crossing since three days performed their holiday prayers there after the occupation forces stood between them and their families to the north or south of Gaza.
