Syria is to host Meeting for Arab descendants

Syria is studying prospects of holding a conference for Parliament Speakers descended from Arab origins to boost Arab causes in the international congresses, Colombia's Speaker Sulyama Hatem on Tuesday said.

In an open dialogue with counterpart members of the Syrian People's Assembly ( Parliament) members, Hatem said the meeting with President Bashar al-Assad was very fruitful where we discussed holding conference for Speakers and parliament members of Arab origin so soon.

"This conference will create a continuous series of ties to be able as parliamentarians to announce our positions as officials in the world countries. It is to vote for the Arab causes in international congresses mainly the parliamentarian because it is the most effective way to clarify the Arab world genuine situation in front of the misrepresentations it is exposed to via western media means," Hatem said.

Colombia's Speaker noted to the Colombian parliament desire to partake in the upcoming Arab Parliament as an observer and hoped that Damascus choice as a hostess of this establishment would pose as a progressive step to build the full and effective Arab unity and work to establish the just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash underlined the significance of the parliamentary dialogue as a civilized phenomena establishing for positive and correct ties on the international level far away from dictations and the logic of pressure. "Dialogue is not only to close view points but rather to clarify many facts neglected on purpose and to divulge what some western media and political circles do of truth falsification for what is happening in many countries and the Arab world." He said.
