Illegal weapons found in Kuwait
Kuwait, Local, 1/19/2005
The Kuwaiti police have seized amounts of mortars and ammunition in one of the quarters of the Kuwaiti capital Kuwait on Tuesday, several days after two bloody attacks between the security forces and armed Islamists took place.
Security sources said that some 8 mortars, one box of ammunition and ten explosives were found in Abdullah Salem quarters. One person notified the police of what he had seen after he saw a man throwing it near his house in the area.
In a statement on Monday the ministry said the security forces seized 349 mortars and a similar number of explosives buried near a garden fence in the deserted al-Ssabaheyah area adjoining Um al-Haiman.
