Eight Israelis killed, injured in an operation in Gaza, alleged by al-Qassam groups

One Palestinian carried out an attack operation while he was being inspected by the Israeli soldiers at the crossroad of al-Matahin near the complex of Ghosh Katif settlement to the south of Gaza.
Ezz Eddine al-Qassam group, the military wing of the Hamas movement claimed responsibility for the operation. It said that the executor of the operation is martyr Omar Tabash from Abasan near Khan Younis. Preliminary information indicated that the operation resulted in killing one Israeli soldier and wounding 7 others.
Ghoush Katif operation came a short time after the arrival of the elected Palestinian President to Gaza and the announcement made by the Palestinian groups its rejections of the call made by Mahmud Abbas to halt the attacks against Israel in order to reactivate the frozen Israeli- Palestinian peace process.
