Columbian Parliamentary delegation visits the liberated city of al-Quneitra

Columbia's Parliament Speaker Mrs. Soliama Hatem, heading a parliamentary delegation, on Monday visited the liberated city of al-Quneitra.

Al-Quneitra Governor Nawaf al-Fares gave a detailed explanation to the visiting delegation on the strategic position and various resources of the Syrian Arab Golan touching upon "the brutal devastation, which included hospitals, humanitarian and social institutions perpetrated by Israeli occupation troops."

The governor referred to the struggle and resistance of the people in the occupied villages against the Israeli occupation troops and their adherence to their Syrian Arab identity.

Hatem stressed Columbian people and government's support to Syria's struggle to restore the occupied Golan Heights and all the occupied Arab territories.

She described the Israeli occupations forces as "aggressor forces" that violated all human laws and international norms.

Then, the delegation toured the city and saw the devastation caused by Israeli occupation forces shortly before withdrawing. Hatem planted an olive tree in the Garden of al-Quneitra Friends.

Meantime, Hatem said the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the region and Israeli withdrawal from Arab states are a necessity to achieve development in the region. During a meeting with Syrian Minister of Information Mahdi Dakhlullah on Monday, both sides discussed bilateral relations and means of boosting them.
