Two Palestinians killed by Israeli shelling to the south of Gaza
Palestine-Israel, Military, 1/17/2005

One Palestinian woman was killed with her son and other 3 were injured after an Israeli tank bombarded houses in Khan Younis camp, thereby the number of Palestinians killed increased to ten and the wounded to 28 as a result of the Israeli military escalations in Gaza during the two past days.

Witnesses said that an Israeli tank bombarded by its shelling on Khan Younis camp for the refugees and hit a house and as a result killed a (59 year old) Palestinian mother and her 28 year old son, while the father had serious injuries.

Al-Zeitoun quarters near Gaza witnessed a bloody Saturday that resulted in killing 8 Palestinian including children and injuring of 35.

Earlier in the day on Sunday, the Israeli prime minister asked his forces to attack the Palestinians and to continue the current operations in Gaza. Sharon told its cabinet "despite the change of the Palestinian authority we still find that they did not take any measures against terrorism." He continued "Instructions were given to the Israeli army and the security forces to take any necessary action without restrictions." He said "these instructions will continue to be valid as far as the Palestinians fail to move."
