The first detainee among a group of 12 Kuwaitis arrived on Saturday evening in Kuwait after three years he had spent in the American detention camp of Guantanamu.

A committee in charge of defending detainees which takes Kuwait as a headquarters said the Nasser al-Mateiri ( 28 year old) arrived on Saturday evening to Kuwait city on board of a plane sent by the Kuwaiti government.

Chairman of the people's committee for the families of the detainees, Khaled al- Odeh, said that that the police escorted al-Mateiri during the coming back trip to the country and then he was taken for interrogation after meeting members of his family.

Al-Odeh added that the authorities will release al-Mateiri, who works as an employee in the ministry of education, after completion of interrogation, noting that he has no criminal acts that he is associated with.
