Unidentified group claims responsibility for Um al-Heiman clash in Kuwait

An unidentified Islamic group claimed responsibility for Um al-Heiman clash which took place on Saturday between the Kuwaiti security forces and an armed group.

The group which calls itself "al- Mujahidoun in Kuwait" said, in a statement on the Internet not yet proved credible, that the " group of martyr Fawaz al-Oteibi broke into the camp of squad 15" in an operation that "resulted in killing two soldiers from the Kuwaiti army." Fawaz al-Oteibi, who was wanted for political and security reasons, was killed in a clash took place on Monday in the southern quarters of the Kuwaiti capital that resulted also in killing two Kuwaiti army officers.

The group explained that after "entering into the camp, the brothers found that there are several American soldiers and killed the three of them." Kuwait has witnessed recently acts of violence, the last of which was the clash of Um al-Heiman to the south of Kuwait between the security forces and an armed group resulted in killing one Saudi and the detention of two gunmen and injuring two security members.

Worthy mentioning that Um al-Heiman is located few Kilometers from al-Erefjan, the largest base for the American base in Kuwait, 30 Km from the Saudi borders and 70 Km to the south of the capital Kuwait.
