Huda Abdul-Nasser lecture in Damascus
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 1/14/2005
Huda Abdul-Nasser, daughter of late Egyptian leader Jamal Abdul-Nasser, yesterday delivered a lecture on Technology and the Nation's Memory at al-Assad's Library in Damascus yesterday.
Abdul-Nasser who is visiting Syria responding to the invitation of the two Ministries of Culture and Expatriates, expressed happiness for visiting Syria and meeting with the Syrian people, stressing the necessity for making use of technology and information in inter-Arab rapprochement and that the little use of technology and the high tech of the age will create the alienation in which the Arabs are living now "through the ongoing conspiracies against the Arab peoples."
Abdul-Nasser called on the concerned parties to reconsider the issue of documentation and archiving of the official and historical documents in order to be used by the younger generations.
She called on the Arab media to "pay attention to educating the people regarding the challenges and conspiracies that are being hatched against the Arab nation."
