$ 2.2 billion for the Iraqi defense budget

The Interim Iraqi government decided to allocate a sum of $ 2.2 billion of the state's budget estimated at $ 20 billion for defense affairs within the framework of a plan to increase the number of the Iraqi security forces to deal with the deteriorated security condition in the country.
The interim Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi considered in a press conference in Baghdad that the Iraqis are the most capable of facing of what he called terrorists.
Allawi indicated that his government put a detailed security plan to guarantee the process of the elections operation set on January 30 in collaboration with the ministries of defense, the interior and the governorates to be declared at its set time.
