53 investment projects amounting in total to 16.82 billion Dhs accepted in 2004

The Moroccan investment commission gave the green light to 53 investment projects amounting in total to 16.82 billion Dhs, around 1.8 billion euros, a report of the "Direction des investissements" said.
The projects, that are to create 10,670 jobs, include 25 by Moroccan investors and 20 by foreign ones, while eight other are carried out in partnership by Moroccan and foreign concerns.
France comes first among foreign investors with seven projects, followed by Spain (3), The United States of America and Saudi Arabia with two each, as well as by Hong Kong, Holland, Malaysia and Portugal.
The textile sector ranks first in these investment projects with 21 units, tourism (7), automobile (7), electronics (4). The rest of the projects is distributed between the agro-business and the chemical industry, telecom, waste disposal, real estate, cable industryÉ
The projects are mainly located in Casablanca, Tangiers, Marrakech and Mohammedia. (MAP) QA
