al-Riyadh: Baz calls for creation of Arab mechanism to solve inter-Arab problems

Presidential Political adviser Osama Al Baz said a mechanism within the Arab League should be created whereby inter-Arab differences could be solved and checked to avoid their adverse effects on collective Arab action.

In statements to al-Riyadh newspaper of Sunday, Baz spoke of the situation in Iraq and said Egypt supports all Iraqis and does not favor a sect against another.

All Iraqis must rally and close ranks at this moment, he said.

Egypt does not differentiate between a Sunni and a Shiite, but backs all the Iraqi people who must come to stand again, lick the wounds and stem out the violence.

He said the elections must be held on time but if the Iraqi leadership saw it would be better to put them off, they should be deferred.
