Walid al-Mu'allim is a deputy foreign minister in Syria

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad issued a new decree nominating the assistant foreign minister Walid al-Mu'allim as a deputy foreign minister. This is in the course of a new post established in the ministry.

News reports in Damascus considered that the new post is considered "a higher post" al-Mu'allim has got, known for his international political experience.

On the other hand, the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara appointed the former Syrian ambassador to Italy Nabila al-Shalan as his assistant in political affairs, while the former Syrian ambassador to Yemen Farouk Taha was appointed an assistant for the foreign minister for administrative affairs.

Meantime, President Bashar al-Assad appointed four new governors. Ahmad Khalil Shehada is the governor for al- Raqqa, Saeed Dawoud Elia for Idelb, Muhammad Eyad Taha Gazalle for Homs and Ali Ahmad Mansoura for Sweida.
