Kerry is in Damascus

Former democratic candidate for the American presidential elections John Kerry arrived yesterday in Damascus in the course of a tour on the region during which he had so far visited Jordan and Iraq.
Kerry made no statements upon arriving in the Syrian capital, but one diplomatic source said that the US Senator will hold today talks with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and with the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara.
