Abul-Gheit: Egypt does not mediate to urge Sunnis participate in elections
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 1/7/2005
Iraq's neighboring countries' Foreign Ministers Conference is aimed at urging the Iraqi people to unite its fronts and set a common goal, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit, who is already in Amman for participation in Amman Summit, in statements to the Middle East News Agency Thursday.
ÊÊHe asserted that Egypt had not urged some parties to attend the conference, denying any Egyptian mediation to convince the Sunni parties to participate in the upcoming elections.
