Gul holds talks with Palestinian officials

The Turkish foreign minister Abdullah Gul yesterday held talks with the Palestinian leadership that dealt with the next Palestinian elections and means of reviving the peace process with Israel.

In conclusion of the meeting, Gul held a joint press conference with the Palestinian foreign minister Nabil Shaath in which the Turkish official indicated the firm relations between his country and the Palestinian people. Gul expressed his hope that transparent and democratic elections will be held in the Palestinian territories, reflecting the hopes of the Palestinian people.

Gul who met with the Israeli officials on Tuesday expressed his country's readiness to contribute to the peace process.
