Moussa highlights inter- Arab Economic Relations
Regional, Politics, 1/3/2005
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa has expressed hope that the Arab states will mobilize their efforts to build strong economic relations to serve the Arab people's interests.
In statements delivered yesterday following the liberalization of custom duties between Arab member countries in the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA), Moussa stressed that exempting region from custom duties represents an Arab achievement on the economic level.
"Exempting the region from custom duties is a step towards establishing an Arab economic bloc by increasing the commercial exchange rates between Arab countries and attracting Arab and foreign investments to the Arab states," Moussa added.
