Continued International support for inter- Sudanese peace agreement International
Sudan, Politics, 1/3/2005

Reactions welcoming the Sudanese inter- peace agreement continued on Sunday describing it as an important step on the road to establishing security and peace in the African continent.

The US vowed, through its secretary of state Colin Powell, to provide all support for Sudan and helping in implementing the agreement which he considered as a historical victory which will contribute to the stability in the African Horn region.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference welcomed the signing the two last protocols of the inter-Sudanese peace agreement. The organization secretary general Akmar eddin Ihsan Oglo expressed his hope to the return of peace to Sudan and the launching of its development march.

In Cairo, the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit expressed in a statement his hope that the peace agreement will be positively reflected on other areas of conflicts wether in Sudan or other parts of the African continent."
