First QIZ to deal be held in January

Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry said the protocol of the Qualified Industry Zones (QIZ) will be applied as of next month as the Egyptian exports will witness the first exportation deal to the US markets.

He said mechanisms and regulations for protocol are currently being drafted.

He said a QIZ unit will be created at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and members of the Egyptian side to the joint committee on implementing the protocol will be chosen.

He said steps and measures would be declared for facilitating registration of the factories which are willing to join exportation under the QIZ protocol.
