Some 30 persons killed in an explosion in Baghdad, 58 suspects were detained

The Iraqi national security forces detained some 58 suspects including several Syrians, and Egyptians in Baghdad and its outskirts.
A statement by the Iraqi government said that members of the national guard carried out an inspection and breaking in operation in al-Azameyah quarters to the north of Baghdad during which some 25 suspects were arrested and many of them had their weapons confiscated.
The statement which does not set a date for the detentions said that the guards forces broke into suspected groups in al-Mahmodeyah area ( 30 Km to the south of Baghdad) during which some other 25 persons were detained carrying the Syrian nationality, having with them amounts of weapons.
The statement also noted that one suspect carrying the Egyptian nationality was arrested in al-Karrada area in Baghdad having several explosives.
The statement also read that "a group of 8 terrorists attacked one of the headquarters of the national guards in al-Restemeyah to the south of Baghdad and were arrested after exchanging fire with them."
