Libyan ambassador leaves within 19 hours
Saudi Arabia-Libya, Politics, 12/28/2004

Well-informed Saudi sources expected the Libyan ambassador in Riyadh Muhammad Saeed al-Qasshat to leave the Kingdom within 24 hours at most.

In a statement issued by the Saudi daily Okaz yesterday, the sources said that the foreign ministry notified the ambassador officially and verbally of the decision of his departure from Riyadh after Saudi Arabia had withdrawn its ambassador from Tripoli, in light of what has been revealed of a Libyan attempt to assassinate the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, noting that the ambassador is preparing his personal things in preparations for departure.

In a similar statement, one official at the embassy said that al-Qasshat started his work at the residence of the embassy on Saturday for a short time but had not returned back to the embassy since 12 noon on Sunday.
