Al-Barghouthi renews support for Abu Mazin
Palestine, Politics, 12/28/2004
Palestinian former minister of security Muhammad Dahlan said that Marwan al-Barthouthi renewed his support for the candidate of the Fatah movement Mahmoud Abbas( Abu Mazin) and his call for a vast people's participation in the next elections.
Dahlan who was permitted to see al-Barghouthi after an appeal from an Arab parliamentarian in the Israeli Knesset said that al-Barthouthi expressed his total support for Abu Mazin considering him as "the only one of the historical leadership who is able to create links among generations."
Dahlan added that al-Barghouthi also urged vast participation in the elections "to practice a correct democratic life," calling simultaneously for converting what he called the liberated Palestinian areas to "a successful political example" of the ability of the Palestinian people to run the affairs of its own state after the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
