Abu Ghait and the Follow-up Meeting of Sharm Al-Sheikh Conference

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu Ghait said his country was making contacts with countries which participated in the plenary conference in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm al-Sheikh last month on Iraq to hold a follow-up meeting to carry out what had been agreed upon.
He added in a statement published Sunday that the meeting will be on the level of representatives of these countries to implement Sharm al-Sheikh Declaration provided there were favorable condition for making it a success.
Abu Ghait said the consultations were still going on regarding holding a conference of Iraq's neighbouring countries and Egypt in Amman, but the date was yet to be set.
The Egyptian chief of diplomacy also said he was paying a Gulf tour soon that would lead him to Qatar, Bahrain and Oman for talks with his counterparts on the situation in the Middle East, Iraq and several issues of common interests.
