Syrian, Tunisian joint venture to drill oil in north eastern Syria

Syria and Tunisia on Thursday evening signed an agreement to explore oil in the north eastern Syria hoping the outcome would be positive and get good oil returns.
Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources headed by Ibrahim Haddad inked the accord with the Tunisian Company Director of the J. B. S. International Limited Tareq Boushmawi.
It is to search for oil and gas in the so called region n.22 in Raqqa governorate, eastern Syria.
Minister of Oil and Mineral Sources underlined in a statement that the Ministry would fully boost the oil quest to reach positive results regarding the accord implementation noting that during the coming year there will be an announcement of a some sites presented for exploration in various places of Syria.
Director of the Tunisian company hoped the research result would be positive and would bring a good returns for both sides pointing out that the risk element is large because of preliminary studies held earlier.
