About 7 tons of drugs seized in Casablanca port

Customs services in Casablanca port seized Monday 6.79 tons of drugs worth 67,95 million Dhs (around US $7.55 million).
The drugs were concealed in 418 barrels, among 2,646 barrels containing plasticine, regional director of Casa port, Moulay Lahcen Akhzouz, told MAP.
Akhzouz explained that barrels containing drugs weighed 25 Kg as the ones containing plasticine, to avoid drawing attention to them. He said the cargo was destined to Luxembourg.
The Barrels belong to an industrial company in Casablanca, according to the regional director, who added that a probe is under way with owners of the cargo.
