Hamas threatens to avenge
Palestine-Israel, Military, 12/21/2004
The Islamic resistance movement ( Hamas) threatened Israel to react to the operations of the occupation army in Khan Younis.
A senior Hamas' movement official, Mahmoud al-Zahhar, said that the "bloody Israeli operation" which was launched by the Israeli army in Gaza and resulted in killing 11 Palestinians "require a reply by all means for legitimate self defense in the occupied lands or outside the green line ( inside Israel)." On the sideline of a seminar on the Middle East in Gaza, al-Zahar ruled out any truce in resistance operations as proclaimed by Mahmoud Abbas, without Israeli initiatives, noting that "we have notified that our conditions to halting the attacks should be reciprocated," stating among other conditions "halting the Israeli aggressions, releasing all Palestinian detainees, opening the borders and withdrawal from the occupied territories."
Al-Zahar's statements came after the occupation army yesterday at dawn bombarded two houses for two Palestinian activists in Jenin area in the West Bank under the charge of executing an attack against Israeli soldiers. The two houses are owned by the families of Muhammad Ayoush and Bassan Mustafa from al-Aqsa group of the Fatah movement.
A military court also sentenced an imprisonment sentence for 115 for an activist of al-Aqsa group after he was convicted of killing three Israelis including three soldiers in Nathania and Baqet al-Gharbeya in March 2003.
Palestinian sources said that the Israeli occupation army of Khan Younis to the south of Gaza resulted in destroying 45 houses and in displacing 60 families. The citizens started to search for their possessions in the remains of the houses destroyed by the Israeli military vehicle.
