Palestine-Israel, Politics, 12/18/2004

The spokesman for the Palestinian Authority, Nabil Abu Rudinah, has warned against the grave consequences of the Israeli escalation in the Palestinian territories especially the invasion of Khan Younis camp and its reflections on the political situation and the available opportunities to rescue the peace process.

Abu Rudinah demanded the international community to pressure Israel in order to halt "aggression and the operations of killing and destruction and demolishing the houses of Palestinian so as atmospheres conducive to further deterioration and tension are not created."

On the other hand, the Palestinian official announced that the British prime minister Tony Blair will visit Ramullah in the West Bank on Wednesday in order to meet with members of the Palestinian leadership, noting that the discussions will deal current conditions and the issue of the international conference expected to be held in London in February 2005.

In this regard, Ranaan Gheisin, the spokesman for the Israeli prime minister stressed that Israel will not attend this conference, though it supports its declared objective in enhancing Palestinian reforms in order to achieve peace.
