Yemeni official on Syria's regional policy
Yemen-Syria, Politics, 12/17/2004

Yemeni Presidential Advisor, Hasan Macci, said Thursday the Syrian policy is very successful in dealing with the national and international issues in spite of different pressures Syria is exposed to.

"Those pressures and campaigns will not affect or change Syria's pan-Arab stance, and Syria will not retreat in the face of those pressures " the Yemeni advisor told SANA correspondent in Sana'a.

He criticized the UN Security Council resolution No.1559, considering it an intervention in the internal affairs of Syria and Lebanon.

He also criticized the "double standard policy" of the US Administration, in reference to "its ignoring international resolutions which demanded Israel to stop its racial and brutal practices against the Palestinian people and withdraw from all occupied Arab lands."

Macci expressed hope Syria will witness more progress under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
