UN Security Council extends UNDOF mission in Golan

United Nations Security Council on Wednesday unanimously adopted the resolution No. 1578 which extends the mission of the UN Disengagement Force Monitoring in the occupied Syrian Golan for another 6 months till June 30th, 2005.
Following the adoption of the resolution, the UNSC in a presidential statement, reiterated call for the achievement of a comprehensive settlement that covers all issues of the Middle East. It also stressed the necessity of implementing the resolution 338.
