Annan assigns Larsen to supervise the implementation of UN resolution 1559

The secretary general of the UN, Kofi Annan, yesterday appointed Terry Rod Larsen as a special envoy for supervising the UN Security Council resolution 1559 concerning the sovereignty of Lebanon, according to the spokesman of Annan, Fred Eckhard.
According to Eckhard, Rod Larsen who currently occupies the post of the ME peace process will assume his post on the third of January 2005, as an assistant for the UN secretary general.
