Okaz: Palestinian Officials on PLO leadership visit to Syria

Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Nabil Amro stressed importance of the latest visit by PLO Leader Mahmoud Abbas and the accompanying delegation to Damascus.

"The visit to Damascus had special connotations for the Palestinian issueÉSyria has been a balance factor in the Palestinian political life É. Lebanon also has a great effect in the issue of the Palestinian refugees," Amro said in a statement to Saudi newspaper ' Okaz' published Tuesday.

He considered the Palestinian delegation's visit to Damascus, Beirut and other gulf capitals as a starting point for the rearrangement of the Arab- Palestinian relations.

For his part, Member of the PLC Imad al-Fallouji asserted the importance of the Palestinian delegation's recent tour which came against the backdrop of the death of PLO Leader Yasser Arafat and the expected developments on the Palestinian arena following the forthcoming elections.
