BBC: Elyawer warns against deteriorated conditions in Iraq
Iraq, Politics, 12/14/2004
With continued explosions and attacks in Iraq, the interim Iraqi President Ghazi Elyawer criticized the USA and Britain. He told the BBC that the two countries had committed "flagrant mistake" when they desolved the Iraqi army and police immediately after the foiling of the government of Saddam Hussein.
Elyawer stressed that desolving the Iraqi army created a vacuum from which the armed group is making use, as fighting in Iraq.
He also warned in press statements that if such conditions continue for a long time this will pave the way for what he called "the birth of an Iraqi Hitler" should the feelings of Iraqis continue of bitterness, anger and frustration, similar to what Germany had created following its defeat and Allied forces humiliation to it inWorld War I.
