Prince Moulay Rachid receives Fellini prize awarded to Marrakesh International Film Festival

Morocco's Prince Moulay Rachid, younger brother of King Mohammed VI, received in Marakech on Sunday, Fellini prize awarded by UNESCO to Marrakesh International Film Festival (Dec. 06-12).
"On behalf of all those who believe in this festival and in the ideals it stands for, I wish to express my sincere thanks to His Excellency Mr. Matsuura, UNESCO Director-General, for this noble gesture, whereby the international organization recognizes the innovative character of this event, which contributes to cultural exchange through cinematographic creativity," said the Prince, chairman of the Foundation of the Marrakech International Film Festival, in a speech he delivered at the end of the 4th edition of the festival.
"This award is putting wind in our sails, making us more determined than ever to pursue our endeavours, so that this festival may always be a forum for dialogue, aimed at promoting exchange and cultural diversity," he went on.
This year's edition of the festival paid tribute to two renowned figures in the world of the cinema, namely to the Italian actress Claudia Cardinale and the Egyptian director, Youssef Chahine.
