Lebanese minister stresses that pressure will not scare Lebanon
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 12/13/2004

Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Ghazi Zeiter called for deepening coordination and cohesion between Syria and Lebanon against the pressures put on the two states.

During a meeting with popular parties Sunday, Zeiter said that the American pressure through international laws will never scare the Lebanese, asserting importance of cooperation with Syria and commitment to the national unity.

For its part, the Assembly of Scholars in Amel Mount, Lebanon, underlined that the recent Lebanese national march in Beirut expressed the Lebanese rejection of the UN Security Council resolution No. 1559 that hurts Lebanon's sovereignty and intervene in its internal affairs.

In a statement, the Assembly criticized the intervention of the American Ambassador in Beirut in the Lebanese internal affairs in a way that violets the diplomatic norms.
