Algerian foreign minister and Israeli practices
Algeria-Israel, Politics, 12/11/2004

Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem stressed that deepening relations between the NATO and the Mediterranean states is impossible unless the Western bloc member states participate in ending the Israeli occupation and settling the situation in Iraq.

In an interview published in the London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper Friday, Belkhadem said that the NATO stance towards the achievement of peace in the Middle East is still theoretical.

He pointed out that issues of the Middle East were on the agenda and both sides stressed necessity of solving disputes in the region starting with the Palestinian issue down to the Iraqi crisis.

The Algerian Foreign Minister stressed necessity of enabling the Palestinians to build their own state and working to get Israel to withdraw from all the occupied Arab lands in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.
