Saudi crown prince is pleased over the culture of dialogue in the Kingdom

The Saudi crown prince has expressed a sort of satisfaction over the beginning of the spread of the culture of dialogue inside the kingdom which had witnessed during recent months a series of attacks targeting government establishments and foreign countries interests.

This was expressed yesterday as crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud received participants in the national meeting for intellectual dialogue in Saudi Arabia dedicated for youths problem. He expressed his satisfaction because the "culture of dialogue has started to disseminate in our Saudi society." Crown prince Abdullah said on this occasion "what is satisfactory is that the culture of dialogue started to take place in our Saudi society and we have started discussions of our problems frankly." Worthy mentioning the Saudi authorities started in 2003 a "national dialogue" whose first session was held in Riyadh in June and the second round by the end of December in Mecca with the participation of clergy men and intellectuals including women.

June 2003 session called for the introduction of deep reforms and a greater political participation and a vaster independence for the judicial system and a fair distribution of wealth.

The third round was held in June 2004. It was held in al-Madina al-Munawarra during which the 70 participants including 35 women adopted recommendations called for the improvement of the women's positions in Saudi Arabia.
