The pope deplores the blowing up of churches in Iraq

Pope John Paul II yesterday condemned the attacks which targeted on Tuesday two churches of the Armenians and Keldan in Musil.
In conclusion of the prayers in Saint Peter's square in the Vatican, the Pope said "In Musil in Iraq, one church for the Keldan and one Church for the Greek Orthodox community" were destroyed. He added "I appeal the God Almighty, with the blessing of Virgin Mary that those dear people will achieve reconciliation and peace." The Pope extended his condolences to the "Iraqis who were shocked by the attack."
