Egyptian official denies Israeli media allegations
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 12/9/2004
Egyptian official presidential spokesman Ambassador Majed Abdul Fattah has completely denied Wednesday's allegations by Israeli Haaretz newspaper about President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Kuwait and his latest contacts with Syria on the Middle East peace process.
Abdul Fattah, in a statement carried by the Egyptian Middle East News Agency (MENA) Wednesday, said Israel knew for sure what is demanded from it to establish normal peace relations with all the Arab states.
"There is no need for any new initiatives as the Arab peace initiative adopted by the Arab summit in Beirut 2002 had exactly specified the bases for reaching the comprehensive peace," he added.
The senior Egyptian official said the Arab peace initiative calls for the Israeli total withdrawal from all the occupied Arab lands until 4th June 1967 line, adding that the Arab document still constitutes the practical and realistic way for achieving the just and comprehensive peace in the region.
