Positive atmosphere in Nivasha negotiations

Sudanese sources in Nivasha resort in Kenya described the atmosphere at the headquarters of the negotiations which are presumed to start today there between the Sudanese government and the southern rebels as positive and good.

Yasser Araman, the spokesman for the movement said that this round of talks will be the last of its kind before reaching a final peace agreement with the government in Khartoum before the end of the current year. He added "the Sudanese people are bored of waiting and promises."

In a press statement Araman said that specialized committees discussed all detailed pending issues which used to be standing against reaching a final peace agreement between the two sides, and that it had placed several options as solutions for these issues.

The two conflicting sides vowed last month before the UN Security Council to reach a peace agreement before the fall of next year.

Along two years of tough and difficult negotiations following Mashakos understanding in July 2003. the two sides signed a security agreement and 6 protocols over arrangements to share the authority and wealth in an interim six years period.
