Turkish demonstrations against war in Iraq
Iraq-Turkey, Politics, 12/6/2004

Demonstrations against the U.S. war on Iraq continued on Saturday in various Turkish provinces.

Turkish Cihan News Agency said that a mass demonstration was held in the province of Eskisehir, west of Ankara, despite the heavy rains. Demonstrators carried banners condemning Iraq war.

In the city of Kares, members of the National Thought group started a campaign to collect signature on a petition as an expression of denunciation of injustice in Iraq and support to its people.

For his part, Saleh Barber, Secretary of Felicity Party branch in the province of Burss called on the population to take part in a demonstration set to be held by his organization on Sunday.

Barber said in a news conference Saturday that "Israel, the U.S., Britain and the other countries which are under Zionism influence brought nothing but wars and destruction to the world during last century."
