Yemen-Regional, Politics, 12/6/2004
The Yemeni foreign minister Abu baker al-Qurabi said that Sanaa will be a permanent headquarters for the democratic dialogue center which will have the task of boosting democracy in the Middle East and north Africa countries.
Al-Qurabi stressed in a press statement that countries participating in "the future forum" will declare this step in the conference which it will be held on December 10th and 11th in the Moroccan capital Rabat.
The Yemeni minister explained that the project of establishing the center in Yemen comes in response to a recommendation from the foreign ministers of Yemen, Turkey, and Italy who held a meeting for it in Rome on November 25th.
Al-Qurabi added that these countries were nominated to sponsor democratic development in the Middle East and North Africa by the G-8 summit which was held in Sea Island in Georgia in June this year.
