Egyptian papers and ME Peace Process
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 12/3/2004

The Egyptian news paper al-Akhbar said Thursday that Syria has been committed to the just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

The paper added that the Syrian peace initiative expressed the Arab readiness to achieve the total peace in the region to establish a new stage of prosperity and stability for all nations in the region.

The paper also criticized the Western Media for ignoring the Syrian peace initiative and concentrating on the Israeli rejections.

It also stressed that Israel can declare publicly its rejection for peace but it cannot hold anyone in responsible for the absence of peace in the region because the Arab states always express their readiness for peace.

For its part al-Ahram, an other Egyptian paper, said that the peace process in the Middle East needs an Israeli partner who is able to take a decision of resuming the peace negotiations particularly when Syria announces clearly its willingness to continue the peace negotiations with Israel.
