German Ambassador praises Mrs. Mubarak's efforts in childhood, motherhood fields
Egypt-Germany, Local, 11/29/2004

German Ambassador in Cairo Martin Koebler yesterday lauded efforts exerted by Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak in enhancing the educational, cultural and health services offered to Egyptian children and women.

Koebler said that Mrs. Mubarak is a special kind of a lady whose way of taking up the responsibility of building a better future for the children and women of Egypt sets a most admirable example that should be followed by all first ladies in the world.

Hailing her "Reading for All" program, he said that her aim by launching it was to fight illiteracy and to build society whose people are more cultured and more open to the world.

He said that offering Mrs. Mubarak the honorary citizenship of Stuttgart is a step of a great political significance because she is the first public figure from outside Germany, and particularly Stuttgart, to receive such a first-class esteem.
