Syria's New Ambassador to Germany

German President Horst Kohler on Tuesday received the credentials of Syria's new Ambassador to Germany, Hussein Omran. The German president stressed care to boost bilateral Both sides reviewed the Syrian-German relations on all levels and means of developing those relations in the interest of the two friendly countries.

Omran stressed the German side's desire for developing relations between the two countries in the interest of peace and development in the region and the world as a whole.

For his part, the Belgium Ambassador to Lebanon Stephan De Clair asserted his country's support to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, stressing desire for boosting relations with Syria and Lebanon.

In a speech on the occasion of Belgium's National Day, De Clair said that his country cares for its relations with its Mediterranean surrounding countries, particularly with Syria and Lebanon, pointing out that Syria signed a cooperation agreement with the European Union.
