Moroccan association denounces murder of Dutch director
Morocco-Netherlands, Local, 11/16/2004
The Moroccan association for parallel diplomacy and dialogue "ADPDC" has strongly denounced the killing of Dutch film director Theo Van Gogh, by a Moroccan-born Dutch national.
The association which held a meeting of its executive bureau in Rabat strongly condemned this kind of individual and isolated acts which are alien to "the values of dialogue and co-existence prevailing among the Moroccan expatriates."
While urging for shedding light on the murder and guaranteeing the safety of the Moroccans living in the Netherlands, the association voices worries over the subsequent violent acts that harmed the immigrants' rights to live in dignity as well as the right of the Dutch society to lead a normal life.
In addition to the 26 year-old killer who was arrested on the murder scene, six other men, from Moroccan or Algerian origin, were detained by the Dutch police.
