Fighting continued in Falluja, Marines prevented relief aid

The commander of the marines unit announced the killing of more 1200 gunmen in Falluja city; while fighting erupted in certain pockets situated to the southern west of the city and the Iraqi forces started control on al-Musil following gunmen deployment there since last Thursday.

One American spokeswoman announced that 38 soldiers were killed in the fighting and other 419 were injured and were transported to Germany for medical treatment. A high ranking American army officer said that mopping up the city of Falluja of houses one by one will take four or five days. He added "we will not leave one stone in the city without searching it." He added "we have arrested Syrians, Sudanese, Jordanians and Egyptians and members of the Iraqi police and national guards who were opening fire on us." Marines units found the bodies of 25 gunmen in the buildings situated in Golan quarters. Relief aid carried by vehicles of the Iraqi Red crescent are still inside Falluja general hospital waiting for the consent of the Americas to move freely inside the city.

A spokesman for the American army said that the distribution of supplies was prevented for security reasons. The Iraqi health minister Ala Eddine al-Elwan ruled out fears concerning the possibility of having a humanitarian crisis in Falluja. Medial sources reported that 6 persons were killed and other 5 were injured in clashes in the downtown of al-Ramadi on Sunday.

In Beji, five Iraqis were killed three of them were from one family and another citizen was injured following a bomb explosion in al-Dour city. Two Iraqis were killed in Tel Afar and other 20 injured during clashes between gunmen and the Iraqi army. Gunmen killed one police man in al-Miqdadeyah.

The Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi said that Baghdad's International airport will be opened on Monday after one week closure. It was also announced the opening of the two border points with Syria and Jordan before travelers both ways as from Sunday on the occasion of the first day of Eid al-Fiter.
