Moroccan TV launches regional channel in Laayoune

The Moroccan TV channel "TVM" launched on Saturday the regional TV channel for southern Laayoune, which started on the same day broadcasting its programs for two hours.

The regional TV channel, launched as Morocco marked the 29th anniversary of the green march that liberated the Moroccan southern provinces, is the first regional experience of the kind ever conducted by TVM. Its programs will shortly be viewed in all the southern provinces.

The channel programs, which are broadcast both on ground and satellite, include daily news bulletins on the region, cultural programs showcasing the local cultural legacy and debates on various issues interesting viewers from the southern regions of Morocco.

A budget of 17 million DH (about 1.7 million Euro) was allocated to technical equipment while another 7 million DH (700,000 Euro) for production. The channel is scheduled to create 25 jobs.
